The Industrial Revolution started with steam and machines. Then electricity fueled assembly lines and the beginning of mass production. Industry 3.0 started with the emergence of computers and basic automation.
Industry 4.0, or the Fourth Industrial Revolution, is a new approach in which computers and automation come together in an entirely new way, with robotics connected remotely to computer systems equipped with machine learning algorithms that can learn and control the robotics with very little input from human operators. Industry 4.0 makes it possible to gather and analyze data in real-time through the use of automation, data exchange, Internet of Things, cloud, Big Data, and Artificial Intelligence (IA).
In this lunch and learn, Jason Toschlog, the Chief Innovation Officer at Flexware Innovation, will discuss how IIoT and Industry 4.0 are utilizing data to enhance lives and experiences through mass customization, smart products, and smart services. He will also cover the following:
- The difference between Industry 3.0 and Industry 4.0
- Real-life technical, applications and anecdotal stories
- The benefits and challenges of adopting the new technologies
