This workshop provides an introduction to reading and interpreting engineering prints and technical drawings used for manufacturing. You will practice what you have learned through multiple realistic hands-on activities.

 

Meet the Instructor:

 

Doug Hanawalt – Productivity Improvement Specialist

 

Responsibilities:

Doug is a Productivity Improvement Specialist with the Purdue Manufacturing Extension Partnership Center which provides high value, affordable solutions to help manufacturing businesses increase profitability.

Background:

Doug has over 25 years’ experience in the manufacture of automotive components including several manufacturing engineering and operations management positions. The majority of his career was consumed with Ford Motor Company where he was responsible for various manufacturing operations in high volume, close tolerance machining and assembly operations including a/c compressors, power steering pumps and rack and pinion steering gear components. Doug received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Purdue University and a Master of Science degree in Operations Management from Kettering University.
