AI in Manufacturing Workshop

Moderated: Alex Taplovic, Industry Labs at University of Notre Dame

Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming the manufacturing landscape—reshaping how organizations train their workforce, capture expertise, and deliver world-class quality and efficiency. In this workshop, we’ll hear from two leaders whose careers bridge decades of hands-on manufacturing experience with forward-looking innovation.

Susan Murray Carlock, Co-founder and COO of Murray Mentor and Executive Vice President of Mursix Corporation, brings more than 30 years of experience in manufacturing and healthcare. Through her work developing AI-powered digital mentoring tools, she is helping manufacturers preserve institutional knowledge and empower frontline technicians with real-time, on-the-job guidance.

Joining her is John DeSalvo, CEO of Arcamed, whose nearly three decades in manufacturing—from the automotive industry at General Motors to leadership in medical manufacturing—have shaped a strong commitment to operational excellence, lean processes, and employee-centered leadership.

Together, their insights highlight how technology, leadership, and workforce development intersect to drive the next generation of manufacturing innovation.
