Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, or FMEA, is a structured approach used to identify ways in which a product or process can fail, estimate risk associated with specific causes, and prioritize actions that should be taken to reduce risk. In this workshop, you’ll learn about FMEA as described by AIAG, including the format and content of FMEAs.

Objectives:

  • Define FMEA and describe the purpose of FMEA.
  • Describe the two types of FMEAs.
  • Define severity, detection, and occurrence as they relate to FMEAs.
  • Describe the FMEA template and the information it contains.

Control Plans

A control plan is a written description of the systems used to minimize process and product variation. In this workshop, you’ll learn about control plans as described by AIAG, including the benefits of control plans, their format and content, and how they relate to APQP.
